Sumi ink on polyester drafting film, stitched to a sheet of Saunders paper with calligraphy that shows through from behind the translucent film.

Ink was dropped onto wet polyester film and encouraged to spread. Small drops of gloss black paint have ben added. You can read more about the ink painting process here and read more about the concepts of this series here.

A quotation from the poem We Learned by Erica Jong is written in white cursive at the base of the work: 'Hold me up to the light; you will see poems'. The word ILLUMINATE is written black capitals on the background paper just above the quotation.

Includes picture framing in natural wood as illustrated, with a white liming wax rubbed into the grain. The art is floated on a deep red conservation board and held away from the glass by a concealed slip. Frame dimensions: 51 x 58 cm; 27" x 20"
