Characteristic italic written with fast strokes on BFK Rives paper. A gold band is visible below centre, behind deckled edges of paper. This features writing on top of cupric metal leaf that has been abraded to reveal fragments of calligraphy underneath, written prior to gilding.

 

 

For us there are only words, script on a scrap or the sound of the other listening, the voice and the ear in antiphon. Or shall it be touch, that lichens each of us over in gold?
